I made this piece Hug Me after thinking about something really simple but powerful, a simple hug. It came from a sculpture my dad made called Heart to Heart, where a small shift changes everything. I took that idea and I leaned into it. When you wrap your left arm over the other person’s right shoulder, the side where the heart sits comes close. The gap closes. You meet. You actually feel each other more.
